It's time to dust off your bicycles! Gear Up for Epilepsy is riding in with the warm weather!
Check out our 2018 Gear Up leaderboard below.
Gear Up for Epilepsy was inspired by a young cyclist,
Charlie, who dreamed of riding with his father across the United States.Unfortunately, he would not be able to accomplish that dream as his ride was cut short by SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death from Epilepsy) in August of 2016.
On June 18, 2017, Charlie’s parents, Clif and Arleen and several of their friends and family departed on a 2-month, 3,712 mile cross-country bicycle trek that their son dreamed of accomplishing.Together, the Coast to Coast for Charlie Team supported by its community and other Gear Up for Epilepsy cyclists, supported by their friends, family and communities rode over 20,000 miles and raised over $54,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation and its SUDEP Institute.Every year, 3,000 people in the United States die from SUDEP.
Join Athletes vs Epilepsy Gear Up for Epilepsy and create your own cycling trek to help contribute to the miles ridden and funds raised in support of the 3.4 million people living with the challenges of epilepsy and the families of the 3,000 people who die every year from sudden unexpected death from epilepsy.
